It is our great pleasure to announce the Glioma Invasion Forum- GIF 2017, which will take place in Piran in April 23-25, 2017.

As we all know, glioblastoma is the most malignant primary brain tumor with poor patients’ survival despite innovative strategies in surgery, irradiation and chemotherapy.  Since last GLIOMA meeting, held in 2013 near Bergen in Norway, organized by the team of Prof. Rolf Bjerkvig, there are news in the field, as will be reported and discussed under several topics of GIF 2017. We would like to share the latest findings and our experiences with the single goal of faster translation to the clinics, as we can witness it at present.

The GIF 2017 offers the opportunity in particular to younger investigators and clinicians to get updated with the state of the art research and preclinical trials. Also, traditional aim of GIF, the PhD students exchange among different laboratories, will be encouraged, also giving the opportunity to briefly present their data in the poster session.
