TRANSPORTATION and OTHER INFO
Cash,
currency exchange and credit card usage in Slovenia
- Credit cards are accepted in almost all shops, restaurants and services.
- Cash (in EUR) can be withdrawn from ATM's by Cirrus/Maestro bank cards (low fee)
or credit cards (higher fee).
- You can change foreign currencies in exchange and post offices; many
are closed on weekends so this option is not very practical.
Conference Shuttle Service:
On Saturday (Sep 20) the transportation from the airport Ljubljana
(Airport Jože Pučnik) to Ribno will be organized by the
Markun shuttle
service.
To enable car pooling and sharing of the expenses (see price), send an
e-mail with:
your name and flight details (airport, flight number, date and time of
arrival)

At the arrivals or just outside of it look for the sign "Applied
Statistics" (orange) or blue sign "Mini bus" across the street and
contact the person at the signs. To optimaze the travels, passangers will be
collected into small groups, to minimize the waiting time send an e-mail
(see above).
Price :
40 EUR - for a trip with 1 or 2 persons
50 EUR - for a trip with 3 or more persons
At the same time you can also arrange the return trip. You have to be at
the airport two hours before your departure time.

By car: from the airport turn left an
follow directions to Jesenice. After 30 km turn right to Bled. Once in Bled,
follow the road signs to Ribno (south of the main road). The Hotel Ribno is
situated at the very end of the village.

The travel from the airport to Ljubljana takes 30 minutes, shuttle buses
are parked just across the street of the arrivals hall. The last stop is at
the main bus station in Ljubljana from where you can take a bus to Bled.
Buses from Ljubljana depart for Bled every hour (Saturdays) and every two
hours (Sunday). Travel time to Bled is aproximately 80 minutes.
Hotel Ribno is about 3km from the Bled bus station.
